VfB Stuttgart has officially launched a landmark sponsorship agreement with Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW), unveiling the bank as the club’s new main sponsor starting from the 2025/26 season. The announcement was marked by the release of the club’s new home jersey, which prominently features the LBBW logo on the traditional red chest hoop.
A Strategic Partnership Rooted in Regional Pride
The three-year agreement represents the largest sponsorship deal in LBBW’s history and underlines the bank’s ambition to strengthen its national relevance and global brand awareness. The Stuttgart-based financial institution will also serve as the main youth sponsor, reinforcing its long-term commitment to football development in the region.
Rainer Neske, CEO of LBBW, commented:
“The DFB Cup final, when we saw ourselves on the front of the jersey for the first time, was a special moment. Our official commitment as main sponsor begins with the 2025/26 season. On the one hand, we want to reinforce our close ties with the club, its fans, and the region, but we’re also hoping to showcase the LBBW brand effectively.”
Visual Identity and Local Symbolism VfB Stuttgart LBBW
The newly released home jersey reflects Stuttgart’s regional identity, incorporating an embossed pattern inspired by the iconic “Stäffele” steps that define the city’s topography. The red hoop — a signature element of VfB’s kit — now serves as the visual stage for the LBBW brand.
Rouven Kasper, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at VfB Stuttgart, emphasized the alignment of values between the two organizations:
“LBBW and VfB are united by a performance-oriented corporate culture and the ambition to operate successfully on an international level with strong roots in the region.”
Alexander Wehrle, VfB CEO, highlighted the broader impact of the partnership:
“This is much more than just a sponsorship agreement. As a driving force for the economy and society, we want to create something long-lasting for our people. This strong partnership is another milestone in our Württemberg global brand alliance.”
