LALIGA Confirms New UK & Ireland Broadcast Partnerships with Premier Sports and Disney+ Through 2028.

LALIGA has announced a new three-year broadcast rights agreement in the UK and Ireland with Premier Sports and Disney+, ahead of the highly anticipated 2025/26 season. The agreement marks a significant shift in LALIGA's media distribution strategy in two of its most engaged international markets.

Strategic Split: Disney+ Enters Live Football Market

As part of the deal, Premier Sports will remain the primary live broadcaster, showing over 340 LALIGA EA Sports matches per season across linear platforms such as Sky, Virgin Media, and Prime Video Channels, as well as via its Premier Sports Player.

In a key development, Disney+ will stream all Saturday late kick-offs exclusively, marking the platform’s live football debut in the UK and Ireland. These matches, scheduled for 8:30pm BST, will now be available as part of the standard Disney+ subscription.

LALIGA President Javier Tebas commented that the move marks a "new era" in how Spanish football is delivered to fans in the region, combining traditional and digital-first platforms for broader reach.

Clip Distribution and Digital Growth LALIGA Disney+ Premier Sports

LALIGA also confirmed new digital clip licensing deals with platforms including Goalhanger, expanding short-form content distribution across social and mobile channels. This includes goals, highlights, and viral moments designed to boost engagement and reach among younger, mobile-first fans.

Broadcast Coverage: Matchday 1 (UK & Ireland)

The 2025/26 season will begin on Friday, 15 August, with live coverage including:

• Girona FC v Rayo Vallecano (6:00pm) – Premier Sports

• Villarreal CF v Real Oviedo (8:30pm) – Premier Sports

• Valencia CF v Real Sociedad (8:30pm, Sat) – Disney+

Other featured matches include RCD Mallorca v FC Barcelona and Real Madrid v CA Osasuna, all to be aired on Premier Sports except for the exclusive Saturday night fixtures on Disney+.
