FC Barcelona has topped UEFA’s latest club report for kit and merchandising revenue, generating €277 million in 2025 — €46 million more than second-placed Real Madrid CF. The figure places Barcelona at the top of UEFA’s ranking in the apparel and licensing category and reflects a structural shift in the club’s retail and digital commerce strategy.

Retail Control and Nike Partnership FC Barcelona

A key driver behind the increase has been Barcelona’s renewed strategic partnership with Nike, focused on product development, supply chain optimisation and global distribution alignment.

Since regaining full control of its global retail and e-commerce operations last season, Barcelona has repositioned Barça Licensing & Merchandising (BLM) as a central revenue engine. Online sales reportedly tripled year-on-year following the restructuring, with continued growth exceeding 45% compared to the previous campaign.

E-commerce has emerged as the primary growth vector within the merchandising vertical.

Global Distribution Footprint

Barcelona’s online store has processed transactions in 176 countries during the current season, with the United States generating the highest transaction volume. The platform operates in seven languages, including Japanese and Korean — both added during the club’s recent Asian tour — and maintains delivery timelines of 48 to 72 hours for most international orders.

Physical retail expansion has also continued. The club now operates 15 directly managed Barça Stores, alongside six licensed locations. A second Madrid store opened in Airport Terminal 4 in August 2024. Further openings are planned.

Despite limited access to Spotify Camp Nou — with only five matches played there in 2025 — the stadium store recorded record turnover figures.

Revenue Scale and Profitability

The €277 million merchandising figure forms part of a broader revenue surge. Total club income reached €989 million in 2025, representing a 29% year-on-year increase and the highest revenue total in club history. UEFA’s report also places Barcelona fifth in Europe for average matchday revenue per game, at €5.4 million — achieved largely while playing home fixtures at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys with reduced capacity.

The club indicated that profitability metrics within BLM significantly exceed typical industry benchmarks, reflecting scale leverage and operational efficiencies following the restructuring.
