Borussia Dortmund has signed a five-season partnership with Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions Europe, running until 2031, with the Japanese technology company set to support the Bundesliga club's infrastructure modernisation and decarbonisation efforts.

Under the agreement, Panasonic becomes an Official Partner of Borussia Dortmund, combining commercial sponsorship rights with plans to introduce energy-efficient heating, air conditioning and cooling technologies across selected club facilities.

Panasonic to Test Heating and Cooling Technologies at BVB Facilities Borussia

The agreement provides a framework for Borussia Dortmund and Panasonic to explore improvements to the club's building infrastructure.

Planned pilot projects will examine the use of heat pumps, air conditioning and cooling systems at various BVB facilities, with a focus on energy efficiency and infrastructure modernisation.

The partnership, announced on October 1, 2026, will run for five seasons through 2031.

The duration provides a framework for the two organisations to develop and assess infrastructure projects over several years.

The agreement also connects Panasonic's technical offering with BVB's broader sustainability objectives.

José Manuel Alves, Regional Director for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK and Ireland at Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions, said:

"With our technologies, we aim to help make the club's infrastructure more sustainable and support its decarbonisation targets."

The planned installations could also provide practical examples of how energy-efficient building systems can be applied within professional sports facilities.

Borussia Dortmund Links Sponsorship With Operational Development

The agreement illustrates a commercial partnership model in which a sponsor's products and expertise are directly relevant to the club's operational requirements.

Panasonic's role includes the potential deployment of building technologies, creating opportunities for the partnership to produce measurable outcomes beyond advertising exposure.

Benedikt Scholz, Director, Authorised Signatory, Internationalisation & Commercial Partnerships at Borussia Dortmund, said:

"In Panasonic, we have found a partner who shares our ambitions and supports us on this journey with innovative technologies."
