Sparta Capital and Park Bench have outlined their long-term vision for Girondins de Bordeaux, following the completion of their investment in one of France's most historic football clubs.
In their first joint statement since taking control, the new owners identified financial stability, governance and long-term sustainability as the immediate priorities while confirming their intention to rebuild the club in close cooperation with French football's financial regulator, the DNCG.
Stability Comes Before Sporting Ambition Bordeaux
The new ownership group said restoring stability will take priority over short-term expectations.
According to Sparta Capital and Park Bench, the immediate focus will be on strengthening governance, establishing a clear strategic direction and continuing discussions with the DNCG as regulatory procedures continue.
The investors described financial sustainability as a prerequisite for the club's long-term return to the highest level of French football.
New Leadership Confirmed
Sparta founder and CEO Franck Tuil said Bordeaux represented one of the most significant projects of his career, referencing his previous involvement in AC Milan's turnaround beginning in 2018.
Incoming club president Dominique Delport, whose career has included leadership roles across international media, marketing and sport, described Bordeaux as one of French sport's most recognisable brands and highlighted the importance of rebuilding relationships with supporters, local institutions and the wider community.
Support From the City
The new ownership also acknowledged the role played by Bordeaux mayor Pierre Hurmic Cazenave's administration in facilitating the transaction, describing cooperation with the city as an important element of the club's future development.
Former owner Gérard Lopez was also thanked for supporting the investor search and helping complete the transaction.
