Sevilla FC and Young Africans SC have signed a sports collaboration agreement that brings the Tanzanian club into Sevilla’s World Club Alliance Program, formalising a development-focused partnership between Europe and East Africa.
The agreement was finalised during a visit by Young Africans SC president Hersi Ally Said to Seville, where he met with Sevilla FC president José María del Nido Carrasco at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium.
Development-Oriented Partnership With a Technical Focus
Under the collaboration, Sevilla FC will provide sporting and technical advisory support to Young Africans SC, with a particular emphasis on coach development and youth talent pathways.
Sevilla’s role within the World Club Alliance Program centres on sharing expertise in academy organisation, player development frameworks, and football operations. While Sevilla FC has expanded its international partnership network in recent years, the agreement with Young Africans SC reflects a growing strategic interest in African football markets with strong domestic fan bases and proven competitive performance.
Young Africans SC: Domestic Dominance and Continental Ambition
Founded in 1935, Young Africans SC is the most decorated club in Tanzanian football, having won 31 league titles, including the last four consecutive seasons in which the club completed a domestic double by also lifting the National Cup.
Beyond domestic success, the club has increased its continental profile, reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final in 2023 and advancing to the CAF Champions League quarter-finals in the past two seasons. The partnership with Sevilla FC aligns with the club’s ongoing organisational transformation, which includes restructuring its operational model and placing greater emphasis on youth development.
Executive Comments Sevilla FC
Sevilla FC president José María del Nido Carrasco framed the agreement as part of the club’s broader international collaboration strategy:
“For Sevilla FC, it is a pleasure to begin this collaboration with Young Africans SC and to continue expanding our network of partnerships with clubs, leagues, and federations worldwide in order to share our experience in the football industry.”
Young Africans SC president Hersi Ally Said highlighted youth development and institutional trust as central motivations behind the partnership:
“The focus of our club now is to put more effort on youth development, and Sevilla has done very well when it comes to developing players. This partnership is going to help us a lot because we have a lot of trust in Sevilla and Spanish football.”
He also noted that the relationship emerged through broader structural reforms at the club, supported by engagement with Spanish football institutions.
