Sevilla FC Academy has entered into a cooperation agreement with Hispania FA aimed at developing football education and talent pathways in Puerto Rico and the United States, expanding the club’s structured academy presence across the Americas.
The agreement formalises an existing relationship between the two organisations and aligns Sevilla FC’s technical methodology with Hispania FA’s local development infrastructure in both territories.
Academy Expansion as a Development Strategy Sevilla FC
The partnership is centred on the transfer of training methodology, coach education and player development frameworks traditionally used within Spanish professional football. Hispania FA has operated in Puerto Rico and the U.S. for several years, focusing on the training of players and coaches and adapting Spanish coaching models to local environments.
For Sevilla FC, the agreement represents a continuation of its academy-based international strategy, where structured partnerships are used to embed the club’s methodology into local football ecosystems rather than establishing wholly owned academies.
Prior Technical Integration Through Player Programmes
Hispania FA already has operational familiarity with Sevilla FC’s training model. Players affiliated with Hispania FA have previously participated in the club’s Players Academy programme, which involves short-term training periods in Seville lasting between seven and ten days.
These programmes allow players to train under Sevilla FC coaches and within the club’s technical environment, serving both as a development experience and an evaluation mechanism. From a business and sporting perspective, this model reduces risk while maintaining quality control over the application of club methodology.
Puerto Rico as a Target Development Market
The agreement also reflects Sevilla FC’s continued focus on Puerto Rican football talent, a market that has produced players capable of integrating into European academy systems. Sevilla’s reserve and youth teams have previously included Puerto Rican internationals, including national team captain Antonetti, who featured for Sevilla Atlético in the previous season.
In the current campaign, Alejandro Almenas and Fabián RodrÃguez are part of the club’s development structure, competing at youth level. This track record provides context for Sevilla FC’s decision to strengthen development pathways in the region through a formal academy partnership.
