This move comes after the current Chief Executive Officer, Vinai Venkatesham, made his intention to depart clear last year. Garlick, a familiar face in the football operations sphere and a respected figure in the industry, is poised to take the helm, promising continuity and a vision for future triumphs.

Garlick's journey with Arsenal began back in 2021, stepping in as the Director of Football Operations. His expertise and dedication have been instrumental in steering the club's football operations and administration, including the women's team and player care. His tenure at Arsenal has already seen him work closely with Sporting Director Edu, crafting a football strategy that has started to bear fruit, evident in the club's recent transfer successes.

Before joining Arsenal, Garlick honed his skills at the Premier League as the Director of Football and served on the Board of Directors at West Bromwich Albion. His vast experience and legal background give him a unique perspective on managing operations in top-flight football.

Josh Kroenke, Arsenal Co-Chair, has praised Garlick for his impact and industry-wide respect. The anticipation is that Garlick's leadership will not only maintain the club's current upward trajectory but also amplify its growth, embodying the passion that fans expect from those at the reins of their beloved club.

Richard Garlick himself is thrilled at the prospect of leading Arsenal into a new era, building on the foundation laid by the club's ownership and management. He extends his gratitude to the board, Edu, and the outgoing Vinai for their unwavering support.

The Sheffield native isn't new to football's challenges and demands, having been an Academy player and a sports lawyer before rising through the executive ranks.
