Liga Portugal will broadcast its relegation and promotion playoffs live worldwide through Liga TV, continuing the league’s push to expand the international visibility of Portuguese professional football through direct digital distribution.
The initiative, developed in partnership with Sport TV, includes coverage of the Liga Portugal Betclic and Liga Portugal 2 Meu Super playoff fixtures involving Casa Pia AC, SCU Torreense, SC Farense and Belenenses SDUQ.
The matches will be available globally through Liga TV’s digital platforms, including its website and mobile applications.
Liga TV Extends Its Reach Liga Portugal
Liga TV initially launched with a focus on original club-focused content and pre-season friendlies. The decision to move into competitive live match broadcasting marks another stage in the platform’s development.
According to Liga Portugal, the platform currently has more than 30,000 subscribers and has already worked with all professional clubs throughout the season on exclusive content production.
The addition of playoff matches increases the platform’s strategic importance inside the league’s wider media ecosystem, particularly as football organisations increasingly seek more direct control over international distribution and audience engagement.
