Volkswagen has signed a multi-season sponsorship agreement with LALIGA and Liga F, becoming the official car sponsor of LALIGA EA SPORTS, LALIGA HYPERMOTION, and the global automotive partner of Liga F, Spain’s top women’s football division. The deal reinforces Volkswagen’s positioning within European football while aligning the brand with themes of sustainability, innovation, and social impact.

Deal Scope and Strategic Objectives LALIGA Liga F Volkswagen

As part of the agreement, Volkswagen will work closely with LALIGA and all 42 clubs across the men’s top two divisions, as well as the 16 clubs in Liga F. The partnership is set to focus on joint activations related to:

  • Sustainable mobility

  • Electrification (via the Volkswagen ID. range)

  • Community outreach and fan engagement

The deal was formally signed at LALIGA’s Madrid headquarters by Jorge de la Vega (General Manager of LALIGA), Pablo Vilches (CEO of Liga F), and Enrique Pifarré (Managing Director of Volkswagen Spain).

Strategic Shift Toward Women’s Football and Sustainable Branding

For Liga F, this is another step toward attracting global corporate partners as the league seeks to build international credibility and raise visibility. Volkswagen’s role as sponsor of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 and its partnerships with 7 national teams at that tournament underscore the brand’s recent push into women’s football sponsorship.

Volkswagen previously served as official mobility partner of UEFA between 2018 and 2022, covering top-tier events including the UEFA EURO, Nations League, and UEFA U21 Championship.

Executive Comments Emphasize Shared Values

While full financial terms were not disclosed, the agreement has been presented as value-aligned with all parties emphasizing shared goals such as inclusion, innovation, and environmental responsibility.

Enrique Pifarré (Volkswagen Spain):

“This agreement connects two passions deeply rooted in society—football and cars—and brings us closer to fans through sustainable and emotional mobility.”

Jorge de la Vega (LALIGA):

“This partnership reinforces our commitment to sustainability and shows how football can be a platform for social and environmental change.”

Pablo Vilches (Liga F):

“This is a strategic step toward the growth and global positioning of Liga F. Volkswagen’s involvement will help strengthen our visibility and sustainability ambitions.”
