Hamburger SV has reached a new membership milestone, surpassing 150,000 members and further establishing itself as one of the largest member-based sports organisations in Germany.
The achievement comes less than three years after the club passed the 100,000-member mark in October 2023, meaning HSV has added approximately 50,000 new members within a relatively short period.
Membership Growth Continues to Accelerate Hamburger SV
According to the club, the latest milestone reflects the increasing strength of the HSV community both within Hamburg and beyond. Membership numbers have become an increasingly important business indicator in German football, particularly among clubs operating under the 50+1 framework where supporters play a formal role in governance structures.
Executive Comments
HSV President Henrik Köncke described the milestone as evidence of the club’s deep connection with supporters.
“150,000 members make HSV one of the strongest communities in German sport.”
Board member Dr. Eric Huwer emphasised the role of membership in connecting generations of supporters across Hamburg and beyond.
“The greatest strength of this club is its people.”
