As officially reported by FC Midtjylland, interest in the Danish 3F Superliga has surged in Chile, largely due to the strong performances of Chilean international Darío Osorio, who plays for the club. The international sports streaming platform Fanatiz now broadcasts one Danish league match per round in Chile — typically featuring FC Midtjylland — in response to the growing audience for the 21-year-old midfielder’s matches.

According to Fanatiz, the decision to acquire Danish league rights for the 2025/26 season stems from a sharp increase in Chilean viewership since Osorio joined FC Midtjylland. The platform now streams one Superliga match per round to its Chilean audience, with most featuring Midtjylland games.

Emilio Martinic, Country Manager for Fanatiz in Chile, explained that Osorio’s performances have created a unique connection between Danish football and Chilean fans:

“Thanks to Darío Osorio’s strong performances in Denmark, interest in following him has grown rapidly in Chile. Since his arrival at FC Midtjylland, he has shown consistent form and is part of the new generation of Chilean players making their mark in Europe.”

Martinic added that broadcasting Osorio’s matches has allowed Fanatiz to introduce Chilean fans to a new league while fostering pride in a player representing Chile abroad:

“It’s a great satisfaction for us to make his matches available to Chilean fans and to be the bridge connecting them with international football. This experience also allows us to showcase a competitive league and share in the pride of following a Chilean player shaping our football’s future.”

Cross-Market Football Engagement

The growing Chilean audience for the Danish Superliga illustrates how individual players can open new international markets for clubs and leagues. Each FC Midtjylland fixture now attracts thousands of Chilean viewers, with social media engagement, highlight videos, and matchday discussions expanding far beyond Denmark.

Similar dynamics have been observed in other cases — for example, the surge of South Korean audiences following Cho Gue-sung and Lee Han-beom, both of whom have also played in the Superliga.

For FC Midtjylland, this represents an opportunity to reach new international audiences and commercial markets through organic fan engagement, driven by the performance of high-profile international players.

Osorio’s Performance Impact

After returning from injury, Osorio recently started for the first time in over a month in a match against FC Copenhagen. The Chilean talent has contributed five goals and five assists in 14 appearances this season, further cementing his status as one of the key young prospects in Danish football.

On the international stage, Osorio has earned 19 senior caps for Chile, positioning himself among the country’s next generation of leading footballers.
