Inter Milan has marked the first anniversary of Inter Academy Jeddah, using the occasion to reinforce its long-term grassroots and market development strategy in Saudi Arabia ahead of the Italian Super Cup semi-final in Riyadh.

The anniversary activities took place on the eve of Inter’s Supercoppa Italiana match against Bologna, linking the club’s elite competition presence in the country with its youth development footprint on the ground.

Academy Projects as Market Entry Infrastructure

Inter Academy Jeddah was launched approximately one year ago as part of the club’s wider international academy network. Such academies typically serve multiple strategic purposes: coach education, youth talent identification, brand localisation and long-term fanbase development.

Rather than operating as short-term promotional initiatives, academy projects are designed to embed clubs into local football ecosystems, particularly in markets where professional football consumption is growing rapidly.

Scale of Local Engagement Inter Milan

According to the club, around 200 children participated directly in on-pitch activities during the anniversary event, with more than 400 attendees including families and local guests. While modest in absolute terms, these numbers are consistent with early-stage academy operations focused on structured training rather than mass participation.

Inter Vice President Javier Zanetti and former Inter Women captain Lisa Alborghetti attended the event, reflecting a common practice among elite clubs to connect academy initiatives with recognisable club representatives.
