FC Internazionale Milano (Inter) has announced a multi-season global partnership with BYD, a Chinese multinational and leading global manufacturer of electric vehicles and sustainable mobility solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, BYD becomes Inter’s Global Automotive Partner for the next three seasons through 2028.
The collaboration was formally introduced at Inter’s BPER Training Centre in Appiano Gentile, where both parties emphasized shared values in innovation, sustainability, and long-term performance.
Strategic Activation and Custom Fleet Rollout Inter Milan BYD
The agreement includes the delivery of around 70 specially branded electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, including flagship models such as the Denza Z9 GT and Sealion 7, to be used by Inter’s senior leadership, technical staff, and first-team players. These vehicles will feature custom Nerazzurri details, while limited editions are expected to be made available for fans and consumers in the future.
According to Inter’s Chief Revenue Officer Giorgio Ricci, the club will leverage its Inter Media House to co-develop original content with BYD and support cross-platform engagement.
“This partnership was conceived with innovation at its core,” said Ricci. “Inter can act as a global communications platform, and this agreement with BYD presents a unique opportunity to integrate two leaders in their respective sectors.”
Cross-Sector Alignment and ESG Integration
Inter President and CEO Giuseppe Marotta described the alignment with BYD as part of the club’s broader evolution from a traditional football team into a globally positioned sports organization, placing equal importance on sustainability, performance, and community engagement.
“BYD is a global leader in electric mobility. We are among the leaders in football and intend to stay there. That’s why we sought a partner with a shared vision,” Marotta stated.
Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD, emphasized the philosophical alignment between the brand’s values and those of football culture, particularly in sustainability and global influence.
“Every day, we pursue innovation and environmental responsibility. Football clubs like Inter represent more than sport—they carry meaning for millions of fans. We’re proud to be part of that,” said Li.
The partnership follows a recent trend of cross-industry collaborations between top-tier football clubs and electric mobility brands, aiming to foster brand synergies while supporting ESG targets and technological innovation.
Commercial and Global Fan Engagement
In addition to the fleet deployment, the agreement will enable fan-facing marketing initiatives including:
Exclusive BYD x Inter content via Inter Media House
Vehicle showcases during matches and club events
Merchandising tie-ins and sustainability campaigns
According to Alfredo Altavilla, BYD’s Special Advisor for Europe, the initiative is “about more than visibility—it’s about storytelling, innovation, and leveraging Inter’s global reach to bring new ideas to life.”
