PSV Eindhoven has named Cisco its Official Stadium Innovation Partner, expanding an existing technology relationship as the Dutch football club prepares to modernise and expand the Philips Stadion.

The agreement will focus on developing AI-ready digital infrastructure, network connectivity, cybersecurity and data analytics to support stadium operations and improve the supporter experience.

Cisco has already worked with PSV on a high-density Wi-Fi network covering the stadium. The latest partnership extends that relationship into a broader infrastructure programme, with technology intended to support future artificial intelligence applications without requiring extensive upgrades to the underlying systems.

The collaboration connects a commercial partnership with PSV's longer-term stadium development plans.

Cisco to Support AI-Ready Infrastructure at Philips Stadion PSV

The agreement centres on the digital infrastructure required to support the planned expansion of the Philips Stadion.

Cisco will work with PSV to develop a technology environment capable of handling large volumes of data, supporting local processing and integrating security across the stadium's systems.

The infrastructure is intended to provide a foundation for future AI applications, allowing the club to introduce new services and operational tools as its requirements evolve.

Partnership Builds on Stadium-Wide Wi-Fi Network

PSV and Cisco already have an established working relationship through the deployment of a high-density Wi-Fi network at the Philips Stadion.

The system is designed to provide reliable connectivity for supporters and employees, including periods when tens of thousands of devices are connected simultaneously.

The next stage will build on that network through the use of data and analytics to improve visitor flows and day-to-day stadium operations.

Cisco will also implement a security architecture covering digital systems and physical infrastructure.

Frans Janssen, Commercial Director of PSV, said the existing relationship had already produced operational improvements.

"We've already made great strides with Cisco, such as with the high-density Wi-Fi network that covers the entire stadium."

The agreement therefore formalises a broader role for Cisco in the stadium's development, extending its involvement beyond connectivity into operational technology and future digital services.

The company already provides technology infrastructure to venues and organisations including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena, Madison Square Garden and the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 team.
