Hamburger SV has announced its financial results for the 2024/25 season, confirming a fourth consecutive year with a positive annual result and the highest revenue recorded since the club entered the 2. Bundesliga seven seasons ago. The club generated €126.5 million in total revenue, achieving a €4.4 million profit, further strengthening its financial position as it targets long-term stability in the Bundesliga.
Record Revenue and Continued Financial Consolidation
HSV’s €126.5 million revenue figure represents a new benchmark for the club, reflecting commercial growth, improved matchday performance, and structural financial discipline. According to CEO Dr. Eric Huwer, the results demonstrate the impact of sustained consolidation efforts:
“This result underlines the successful overall development of our club and strengthens our long-term financial capabilities.”
The club’s strengthened balance sheet is supported by several key indicators:
Equity ratio (incl. convertible bond): 48.1%
Net financial assets: €14 million
Liquid assets: €36 million
Financial liabilities: €22 million
The club’s net financial asset position is considered a significant milestone, according to Huwer, and reflects a level of financial stability not seen in recent years.
Strategic Focus After Promotion Hamburger SV Revenue
Following HSV’s return to the Bundesliga, the club’s strategy centers on maintaining top-flight competitiveness while continuing prudent financial management. Huwer and board colleague Stefan Kuntz emphasized a balanced approach:
“We aim to be successful on the pitch without jeopardizing our financial independence,” said Huwer. “The overarching goal remains to establish the club permanently in the Bundesliga, safeguard its autonomy, and continue on the path we have set.”
The leadership team sees fiscal predictability as a key foundation for sporting progress, with an emphasis on long-term squad planning, sustainable commercial growth, and continued operational discipline.
