FC Viktoria Plzen has announced a change in ownership, with Michal Strnad, a Czech entrepreneur and owner of the industrial-technological group CSG, becoming the club’s new majority shareholder through his private company Palatua a.s. The agreement was signed today and is subject to approval by the Czech Competition Authority (ÚOHS).

While Strnad assumes the position of majority owner, the club clarified that the acquisition is a private investment and Viktoria Plzen will not become part of the CSG Group.

Existing shareholders Adolf Šádek and Martin Dellenbach will retain minority stakes. Šádek will remain Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, while Dellenbach will continue as a board member.

Leadership Statements

Adolf Šádek welcomed the transition:

“I am happy that Viktoria Plzeň has gained a strong Czech majority owner who built a global group with roots in the Czech Republic. This marks the start of a new chapter for Plzeň football.”

Martin Dellenbach emphasised the long-term vision:

“Together with the new shareholder and with Adolf Šádek, we will continue to develop Viktoria strategically, with a focus on youth development and economic sustainability.”

Michal Strnad outlined his objectives:

“Viktoria Plzeň is a club with a rich history and importance for the city and the region. My ambition is long-term sustainable growth, both sporting and economic, with continued emphasis on the club’s academy and youth development. Viktoria should remain among the top Czech clubs and a regular participant in European competitions.”

He also underlined his cooperation with Adolf Šádek:

“It was thanks to Adolf Šádek that Viktoria overcame a crisis three years ago. He remains fully responsible for the management and further development of the club.”
