FC Schalke 04 has secured a long-term extension of its stadium naming rights agreement with German brewery C. & A. VELTINS, confirming that the venue will continue to operate as the VELTINS-Arena until the end of the 2035/36 season.
The renewed agreement will take effect from the 2026/27 season and runs for ten years, extending the partnership well ahead of the previous contract’s expiration. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Long-Term Naming Rights as a Stability Instrument
The renewal provides Schalke with long-term planning security at a time when many clubs face increased revenue volatility. Stadium naming rights remain one of the most predictable commercial income streams, particularly for clubs operating large, multi-purpose venues. FC Schalke 04 VELTINS
Moreover, securing a decade-long commitment reinforces the club’s ability to plan infrastructure, operations and commercial strategy with a fixed, contracted revenue component.
A Nearly Three-Decade Commercial Relationship FC Schalke 04 VELTINS
The partnership between Schalke 04 and VELTINS dates back to the 1997/98 season, initially as a shirt sponsor. Over time, the relationship expanded to include pouring rights and, since 2005, the stadium naming rights.
In addition to the stadium name, the extended agreement maintains exclusive pouring rights and selected advertising inventory. This integrated rights package aligns with the multifunctional use of the VELTINS-Arena, which hosts football matches, concerts and large-scale events throughout the year.
