FC Bayern Munich generated more than 15 billion video views and 1.1 billion social media interactions during the 2025/26 season, as the club's global digital following grew by around 10% to more than 220 million followers.

The German club also reported growth across its owned digital channels and subscription video business, with website and app visits increasing 17% year-on-year and FC Bayern TV PLUS subscriptions rising 39%.

15 Billion Video Views Across Social Media FC Bayern

Instagram, TikTok and Facebook were the principal drivers of FC Bayern's social media growth during the season.

Across its social channels, the club recorded:

  • more than 15 billion video views;

  • more than 1.1 billion interactions;

  • approximately 10% growth in its overall social media community;

  • more than 220 million followers across platforms.

FC Bayern said its performance moved the club from eighth to fifth in its international social media benchmark, placing it ahead of Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, the two UEFA Champions League finalists referenced in the club's analysis.

April became the strongest social media month in Bayern's history. The club's 4-3 home victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final second leg generated its biggest single day on social media.

Bayern's record digital season coincided with significant sporting success. Both the men's and women's teams completed domestic doubles, while major European fixtures provided some of the biggest digital moments of the campaign.

Website and App Traffic Rises 17%

Growth was not limited to third-party platforms. Visits across FC Bayern's website and app increased 17% compared with the previous season, strengthening the club's direct digital relationship with supporters.

The Real Madrid semi-final provided another record moment. Bayern's website and app generated more than one million visits in a single day, with the club's live ticker and live web radio among the main traffic drivers.

Approximately 50,000 users listened to the live audio stream around the fixture.

FC Bayern TV PLUS Subscriptions Grow 39%

Bayern also reported substantial growth for its subscription video platform.

The number of FC Bayern TV PLUS subscribers increased 39% during the 2025/26 season.

The service has been built around content unavailable through conventional social channels, including live pre-season matches involving the men's and women's teams, competitive fixtures featuring Bayern's amateur and U19 sides, highlights, interviews and full-match replays.

The growth gives Bayern another direct-to-consumer channel within its media operation and provides an indication that a portion of its large free digital audience can be moved towards subscription products.
