The agreement, facilitated by FSDL, the media rights holder for AFC competitions in India, heralds an exciting era for football fans in the country.

The Significance of the Deal

The AFC, as the governing body for football in Asia, organizes some of the world's most renowned football tournaments, including the AFC Champions League. With this new deal, FanCode aims to bring the highest level of Asian football competitions to fans in India, featuring international stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Karim Benzema.

What the Deal Includes

The partnership is comprehensive and includes multiple competitions such as the AFC Champions League, AFC Cup, AFC U23 Asian Cup, AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2024, AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup 2024, among others. Indian clubs like Mumbai City FC, Odisha FC, and Mohun Bagan Super Giant also feature in these competitions, further intensifying the local interest.

Impact on Indian Football

This strategic move is not only significant for FanCode but also for the Indian football ecosystem. Mumbai City FC, for example, will compete in the AFC Champions League this year, an opportunity for Indian football to be showcased on a larger stage. Prasana Krishnan, co-founder of FanCode, expressed delight over the partnership, emphasizing its potential to stimulate the growth of football in India.

FanCode’s Growing Portfolio

The deal follows FanCode's recent livestreams of other major football events like the FIFA Women’s World Cup, SAFF Cup, J-League, EFL Championships, Barclays WSL, and Carabao Cup. On the domestic front, FanCode also streams competitions like the Hero Super Cup, Goa Professional League, and Kerala Pro League, making it a one-stop destination for football aficionados.

The multi-year deal between FanCode and AFC marks a significant milestone in the world of football streaming rights. It not only promises to bring high-quality Asian football to Indian fans but also aims to enrich the domestic footballing landscape. As AFC competitions start to unfold, the excitement is palpable, and this deal ensures that Indian fans won’t miss a minute of the action.
