FC Barcelona has signed a three-season sponsorship agreement with EGYPTAIR, naming Egypt's national carrier a Global Partner of the club through the end of the 2028/29 season.
Under the agreement, EGYPTAIR becomes the Exclusive Official Airline of Barcelona's men's first football team, basketball team and handball team. The partnership also includes a major shirt sponsorship asset, with the airline's logo set to appear on the front of the club's handball jersey during matches.
The agreement connects Barcelona's commercial expansion in the Middle East and Africa with EGYPTAIR's own international growth strategy as the airline expands its network and modernises its fleet.
EGYPTAIR Takes Rights Across Three Barcelona Teams Barcelona
The partnership extends beyond Barcelona's football operation.
EGYPTAIR will hold exclusive airline rights across the men's first football team, basketball team and handball team for three seasons, giving the company access to several sporting properties within the wider FC Barcelona organisation.
The handball agreement carries additional visibility.
EGYPTAIR will become a front-of-shirt sponsor of Barça's handball team, placing the airline on the playing jersey throughout the partnership.
Middle East and Africa Central to Barcelona's Commercial Rationale
Barcelona has identified the partnership as another opportunity to develop its reach across the Middle East and Africa, where the club already has an established supporter base.
That geographic focus gives the selection of EGYPTAIR particular relevance.
The Cairo-based airline connects Egypt with more than 85 destinations across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America, according to the company, providing an international network that overlaps with several markets important to Barcelona's global commercial operation.
Football Partnership Supports EGYPTAIR's Expansion
The sponsorship comes as EGYPTAIR pursues a broader transformation and growth strategy.
Founded in 1932, the airline is expanding its route network while investing in fleet modernisation, passenger experience, digital transformation, strategic alliances and sustainability.
It is also a member of Star Alliance, extending its connectivity through the wider airline network.
EGYPTAIR has positioned the Barcelona agreement within that international expansion strategy.
The sponsorship provides the carrier with association with one of European football's most internationally followed clubs at a time when it is looking to increase its own global footprint.
