In a strategic move to strengthen its management and operational structure, Corinthians, one of Brazil's most prominent football clubs, has recently inked a three-year contract with Ernst & Young (EY), a global leader in audit and consultancy services. This partnership marks a significant step in Corinthians' pursuit of excellence both on and off the field.
Strategic Consultancy for Enhanced Governance
Under the leadership of President Augusto Melo, Corinthians' collaboration with EY is poised to revolutionize the club's governance structure, internal controls, and organizational framework. This consultancy agreement covers a comprehensive range of services, including strategic planning and support for the club's football department and youth categories.
A “Shock of Management” Initiative
The Corinthians-EY partnership embodies the "shock of management" approach that President Melo emphasized during his inauguration. This initiative is designed to address and rectify the challenges stemming from Corinthians' previous administrative practices. "Given Corinthians' stature and the complex legacy of our administrative past, it's imperative to have the best partners by our side. EY's expertise is crucial in guiding our actions and aiding in the management transformation that Corinthians urgently needs," said Augusto Melo.
EY's Commitment to Corinthians' Success
Pedro Daniel, EY's Executive Director and Leader in the Sports Industry for Latin America, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. "It's an honor to take on this challenge with a club as significant as Corinthians. Our goal is to bolster governance structures, strategic and financial matters. More importantly, we aim to support Corinthians in becoming a dominant force in football and a benchmark in management in Brazil and Latin America," he stated.
