Borussia Dortmund has announced the extension and expansion of its long-standing collaboration with REWE, one of Germany’s leading retail groups. The renewed agreement runs for five years, with REWE increasing its status to Champion Partner starting from the 2025/26 season.
Partnership Expansion Borussia Dortmund REWE
Under the new deal, REWE will gain increased brand visibility across Borussia Dortmund’s ecosystem, most notably with its logo featured on training apparel for the men’s first team, U23s, and youth teams. REWE will also become the official food partner of BVB, supplying products for Signal Iduna Park’s catering operations, including its popular stadium bratwurst.
The enhanced partnership also includes broader TV exposure within the “black and yellow” brand environment, strengthening REWE’s commercial footprint in German football.
Long-Term Collaboration
REWE and Borussia Dortmund have worked together since 2009, making it one of the Bundesliga club’s longest-running sponsorships. The collaboration has included the REWE Familienblock at Signal Iduna Park, aimed at offering family-oriented ticket packages and fan experiences. In 2023, REWE extended its involvement by becoming shirt sponsor and main partner of Borussia Dortmund’s women’s team.
Leadership Perspectives
Carsten Cramer, Managing Director of Borussia Dortmund, commented:
“We are pleased that REWE has steadily expanded its already strong commitment to BVB in recent years. This reflects mutual trust and the belief that through this partnership, objectives can not only be set but also achieved.”
Hanno Rieger, Chairman of REWE Dortmund, added:
“For 16 years we have been a strong partner of Borussia Dortmund, and this partnership stands for cohesion, passion, and engagement beyond football. It is a source of pride that we can continue this journey together.”
Peter Maly, Board Member of the REWE Group, noted:
“Through our commitment, we are continuously expanding our presence in the Bundesliga and are delighted to support Borussia Dortmund’s development in a central role over the coming years.”
