Atlético de Madrid has closed the 2025 calendar year with a record 151,831 registered members, underlining sustained growth in its fan base and the consolidation of its membership-driven business model.
The figure represents the highest number of members in the club’s history and comes only weeks after Atlético also reached an all-time high in season ticket holders, with all available subscription seats at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano fully allocated.
Season Ticket Capacity Reached, Waiting List Maintained
At the start of the current season, Atlético de Madrid capped season ticket subscriptions at 61,304, filling every seat designated for season-long access at the stadium. Demand has continued to exceed supply, with a waiting list of more than 8,000 supporters registered for potential availability in the 2026/27 campaign.
From a commercial perspective, full subscription capacity provides the club with predictable matchday revenue and reinforces the stadium’s role as a fully monetised asset within Atlético’s broader business operations.
Membership Base Nearly Doubles Over a Decade Atlético de Madrid
The growth trajectory is particularly notable over a longer time horizon. In 2015, Atlético de Madrid reported 78,097 members. By the end of 2025, that number has increased by almost 94%, reflecting expansion not only in sporting performance but also in brand reach, engagement infrastructure and fan services.
Such growth places Atlético among Europe’s leading clubs in terms of membership scale, an increasingly important metric as clubs seek stable, recurring revenue streams independent of broadcasting cycles.
Structural Changes to Membership Model
Alongside the record figures, Atlético confirmed a structural adjustment to its membership framework. Going forward, membership status will be aligned with the calendar year rather than the sporting season, with validity running from January 1 to December 31.
In addition, current members have been informed that their existing cards will remain valid until December 2026. As a result, no renewal or membership fee will be required until late 2026, with members retaining both their seniority and membership numbers during this period.
