Athletic Club has closed the 2024/25 season with significant growth across its digital platforms, placing the Bilbao-based club firmly within LaLiga’s top five for social media engagement and video views. The data underscores Athletic Club’s evolving strategy to expand its global digital footprint and deepen fan engagement.

Strong Growth in Engagement and Reach

The club recorded nearly 100 million interactions across its official channels, reaching a total of 96,584,240 — a 27% increase from the previous season’s 76 million. This places Athletic fifth in overall engagement across LaLiga, behind only FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, and Real Betis.

Athletic also saw a 48% rise in video consumption, with 1.13 billion video views over the season compared to 763 million in 2023/24. These numbers confirm the club’s consistent position within the league’s top five for video content performance.

Expanding Global Digital Community Athletic Club Record

By the end of June 2025, Athletic’s total digital audience reached 16.7 million followers — a 38% increase from the 12.1 million recorded the year before. This growth reflects the club’s efforts to reach new audiences, especially through multilingual and globally targeted content.

A key driver of this expansion has been the introduction of the club’s official WhatsApp Channel, launched in October 2023. The channel already has over 212,000 subscribers, providing a direct and personalized communication platform for fans worldwide.
