The Argentine Football Association has signed a sponsorship agreement with Google that will see the company’s artificial intelligence platform Gemini become a Global Main Sponsor of Argentina’s national football teams.
Under the agreement, Gemini branding will appear on the official training apparel of Argentina’s national teams across all categories, including men’s and women’s squads as well as youth selections. The partnership is understood to run for two years.
Training Kit Visibility Across National Teams
The sponsorship introduces exclusive brand placement for Gemini on training wear used by Argentina’s national teams, making it the first visible activation of the partnership. The branding will be present during training sessions and team preparation periods across all levels of the federation’s international programmes.

AI Integration and Innovation Projects AFA
Beyond brand exposure, the agreement includes collaboration between AFA and Google on projects linked to artificial intelligence and technological innovation. While specific applications have not yet been detailed, the organisations indicated that initiatives related to AI development and digital experiences will be introduced progressively over the coming months.
International Expansion Strategy
For AFA, the addition of Google strengthens a commercial expansion programme launched in 2017 aimed at transforming the Argentine national team brand into a global sports property. The strategy has focused on building sponsorship portfolios and commercial partnerships across international markets, including Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Latin America and the United States.

Leandro Petersen, AFA’s Marketing and Commercial Director, highlighted the importance of the agreement for the federation’s international positioning, noting that the partnership expands opportunities connected to technological innovation and the global development of the Argentina national team brand.
