Union Berlin has confirmed continued progress on the construction of its new professional training centre at Alte Försterei, the club’s stadium complex in Berlin.

Despite winter conditions temporarily slowing construction activity, work on the project has resumed at full pace since mid-February. The facility is intended to become the primary training base for both the men’s and women’s professional teams, marking a significant infrastructure investment for the Bundesliga club.

The project forms part of Union Berlin’s broader strategy to strengthen its sporting and operational infrastructure as the club continues its development at the top levels of German football.

Construction Progress Visible Across the Training Complex Union Berlin

The structural phase of the project has advanced steadily over recent months. Construction crews are currently working on the building framework for both the sports function building and the parking garage that will serve the new training centre.

Installation work for water, sewage and electricity systems is also underway across the site, alongside roofing and waterproofing operations. Several key construction milestones have already been reached. Windows have been installed on the ground and first floors of the sports facility building, while plastering work has begun inside the ground-floor areas.

Interior development has also progressed following the installation of the first drywall partitions, allowing the internal layout of the building to take shape.

Next Phase: Technical Infrastructure and Interior Development

According to the club, installation of the building’s technical systems — including heating, ventilation, sanitary and electrical infrastructure — will begin during March. Exterior work is also continuing, with facade and brickwork construction scheduled for completion later in the month. Once completed, the building exterior is expected to reflect the architectural identity associated with Union Berlin’s stadium environment.

The club expects the structural construction phase to be completed by the end of April, which will allow interior finishing work to begin across the full facility.
