Olympique Lyonnais and Trainline have confirmed the extension of their partnership for three additional seasons. The collaboration will now run through 2028.

Updated Sponsorship Assets Trainline Olympique Lyonnais

As part of the new agreement, Trainline’s logo will appear on the front of the players’ shorts as well as on the back of training and warm-up kits. This follows the initial deal that placed the company’s branding on the back of Lyon’s jerseys during Ligue 1 matches from February 2025.

Focus on Visibility and Market Presence

The renewed partnership provides Trainline with continued visibility across Ligue 1 broadcasts, stadium advertising, and the club’s digital channels. For Olympique Lyonnais, the agreement adds another long-term commercial partner to its sponsorship portfolio.

Background

When the collaboration was first signed, Trainline identified France as a priority market, with Lyon positioned as a central hub in the European rail network connecting Paris, Italy, and Spain. The company also emphasized the role of football in reaching new audiences and encouraging greater use of train travel.

Back in February 2025, Trainline CEO Jody Ford said:

“We cannot underestimate the power of football to encourage changes in habits. By partnering with Olympique Lyonnais, an iconic club in the French league, we want to introduce Trainline to a wider audience while highlighting the advantages of train travel. France is a key market for us, and Lyon, located on the strategic Lyon-Paris axis and at the heart of connections between France, Italy, and Spain, is a crossroads of the European rail network. With this partnership, we want to encourage as many people as possible to choose the train, a more sustainable mode of transport, to support their favorite team.”
