The Saudi Pro League (SPL) has unveiled the full fixture list for the 2025/26 Roshn Saudi League (RSL), outlining 306 matches across 34 rounds beginning on Thursday, 28 August 2025. The schedule promises early high-profile clashes, a concentrated run of derbies and clasicos, and a competitive balance bolstered by new signings and promoted clubs.

Competitive Landscape and Early Marquee Matches

Reigning champions Al Ittihad open their title defence away to Al Okhdood, while Al Nassr, with Cristiano Ronaldo extending his contract, travel to Al Taawoun. Al Hilal begin with a Riyadh derby against Al Riyadh, and AFC Champions League winners Al Ahli host promoted Neom, whose off-season signings include Alexandre Lacazette, Marcin Bulka, and Amadou Koné.

For the league’s “Big Four” – Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, and Al Ahli – the opening rounds bring immediate challenges, creating early broadcast and sponsorship peaks. Fixtures such as the Saudi Clasico (Al Hilal vs Al Ittihad) on Matchday 6 and the Capital Derby (Al Hilal vs Al Nassr) on Matchday 15 are set to drive high media value and audience engagement.

Derby Days and Key Fixtures Roshn Saudi League 2025/26

  • Capital Derby – Al Hilal vs Al Nassr: Matchday 15 and 32

  • Sea Derby – Al Ittihad vs Al Ahli: Matchday 8 and 25

  • Eastern Province Derby – Al Qadsiah vs Al Ettifaq: Matchday 9 and 26

  • Saudi Clasico – Al Hilal vs Al Ittihad: Matchday 6 and 23

Marketable Storylines and Player Milestones

Beyond title races, clubs like Al Taawoun and Neom are positioned as potential disruptors, with favourable early fixtures that could accelerate their visibility. Al Shabab’s Abderrazak Hamdallah is five goals away from equalling the league’s all-time scoring record, a narrative with strong commercial appeal for broadcasters and sponsors.

Commercial Growth and International Reach

The fixture release comes as the RSL builds on record-breaking performance metrics:

  • 183 broadcast partners worldwide in 2024/25

  • 2.5 million match attendees across the Kingdom

  • 200% increase in international sponsorship revenue year-on-year

The league’s strategic scheduling, combined with the global profile of its players, is expected to amplify international engagement and deliver value to commercial partners.
