Brera Holdings PLC has officially become the second multi-club ownership (MCO) group to operate in Italy’s Serie B, joining City Football Group (CFG) in a move that signals increasing international investment in the Italian football market.

According to Yahoo Finance, citing Globe Newswire, Brera completed the acquisition of a majority stake in SS Juve Stabia, a club that recently climbed from Serie C to Serie B. The acquisition adds another European asset to Brera’s expanding global football portfolio and places the company alongside CFG—owners of Palermo FC and Manchester City FC—as the only two MCOs with direct involvement in Italy’s second division.

Brera's Executive Chairman Daniel J. McClory confirmed the news following the Serie B Owners’ Meetings in Rome on July 23, 2025:

“Being welcomed by Serie B League President Paolo Bedin into this exclusive ownership group including fellow MCO and the world-renowned City Football Group was a highlight of the meetings,” McClory stated.

The meetings provided a platform for Brera to engage with Serie B leadership and align on league-wide initiatives. SS Juve Stabia Brera Holdings

Juve Stabia: A Case Study in Value Growth

Brera’s acquisition of Juve Stabia—also known as “The Second Team of Naples”—has already delivered significant returns. According to data from Transfermarkt and analysis by Social Media Soccer, the club’s market value surged by 245%, climbing from $9.3 million to $32 million during the 2024/25 season.

The club’s strong on-field performance propelled it into the Serie A promotion playoffs, further boosting investor confidence and market perception.

MCO Strategy: A Global Vision

Brera Holdings, listed on Nasdaq under the ticker BREA, has rapidly expanded its football footprint. Beyond Juve Stabia, the group owns or operates clubs in:

  • Mozambique: Brera Tchumene FC (First Division)

  • North Macedonia: Brera Strumica FC and Brera Tiverija FC (Women’s)

  • Mongolia: Brera Ilch FC

  • Italy: Brera FC (the “Third Team of Milan”)

Brera’s acquisition of Juve Stabia on June 20, 2025, represents the next phase of its multi-club ownership strategy, combining bottom-up value creation with a strong emphasis on local identity and global connectivity.
