Manchester City has launched Man City North Texas FC, a new youth football team in the United States, as the club continues to expand its grassroots and coaching ecosystem internationally.


The initiative is designed for players aged 8 to 19 and will deliver structured training programmes based on the same coaching methodology used across Manchester City’s global football operations.

The project represents a further step in the club’s long-term strategy of building football education platforms outside Europe, particularly in key growth markets such as the United States.


Coaching Model Exported to the U.S. Manchester City


The programme will be delivered by full-time Manchester City coaches, ensuring alignment with the club’s established training philosophy.


Sessions will focus on a combination of:

• technical development

• tactical understanding

• decision-making

• mental and personal growth


Training is structured around progressive, age-appropriate formats designed to support long-term player development rather than short-term competitive outcomes. Moreover, the programme will also be overseen by senior technical leadership, including Manchester City’s Head of Coaching Methodology, ensuring consistency with the club’s global standards.


Multi-Level Development Structure


Man City North Texas FC will offer a tiered development pathway covering different levels of participation.


The structure includes:

• pre-competitive teams

• competitive and elite teams

• open-access football school sessions

• seasonal training camps and international experiences


Players will also have opportunities to access training environments linked to Manchester City’s City Football Academy in the UK, creating a connection between local development and the club’s global infrastructure.


United States as a Strategic Growth Market


The launch reflects Manchester City’s continued focus on the United States as a priority market for football development and commercial expansion.


Through initiatives such as City Football Schools, youth tournaments and coaching programmes, the club has already established a presence in the region.
