Ligue 1 McDonald’s is bringing a new layer of analytics to football broadcasting with the launch of Data Zone, a real-time, data-enhanced viewing experience. Announced by LFP MEDIA and DAZN, in partnership with Genius Sports, the new feature will debut during the Olympique de Marseille vs. FC Nantes match and will be available for one match per matchweek moving forward.
An Interactive Viewing Experience for Ligue 1 McDonald’s Fans
Data Zone is an alternative broadcast mode designed to provide real-time statistical insights throughout the match. The format integrates a rolling news and L-bar graphic overlay with continuous updates on passing accuracy, player speed, off-ball runs, 1v1 breakdowns, and shot speed detection.

How Data Zone Works Ligue 1 Data Zone
Data Zone is powered by GeniusIQ, an AI-driven sports data platform developed by Genius Sports. The system relies on optical cameras installed across all Ligue 1 McDonald’s stadiums, capturing every movement on the pitch in real time. Machine learning technology processes the data instantly, identifying key match events such as shots, sprints, and defensive duels, and displaying relevant analytics on-screen. Data Zone will debut this Sunday and will be available exclusively on DAZN for one Ligue 1 McDonald’s match per week.
