FC Bayern Munich has expanded its U.S. fan engagement strategy with the launch of the first FC Bayern Texas Fest in Houston, a community-focused activation aimed at strengthening the club’s regional presence ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The event attracted approximately 1,000 visitors and combined fan experiences, partner activations and a live broadcast of the Bundesliga fixture between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Texas Fest was supported by several commercial partners, including Paulaner USA and SAP.

The program featured multiple interactive zones designed to extend matchday-style engagement beyond traditional stadium environments. Activities included youth coaching sessions delivered by Bayern academy staff, a gaming lounge powered by EA FC, and brand-led fan spaces including a Paulaner beer garden.

Former Bayern striker Claudio Pizarro attended the event as a club ambassador, participating in fan meet-and-greets, match analysis sessions and community activities.

Community Football Development

The event also coincided with the launch of the FREEKICKS Soccer Program, an initiative led by the FIFA World Cup 2026 Houston Host Committee. The program aims to renovate football facilities across Houston while providing more than 1,200 scholarships to youth players participating in local development programs. Bayern Munich has been connected to the initiative since 2019, when club representatives supported early discussions around the project during the club’s Audi Summer Tour in the United States.

North American Fan Network

Fan club representatives from across North America also participated in a workshop hosted during the event, focused on sharing best practices for supporter community growth and regional engagement.

The activation reflects Bayern’s broader strategy of strengthening its fan ecosystem in the United States through localized community events rather than relying solely on preseason tours.
