FC Barcelona and CUPRA have announced the extension of their global partnership until 2029. This collaboration, which began in 2019, not only cements CUPRA's role as the club's Official Automotive and Mobility Partner and Official Car but also expands its reach to encompass all of FC Barcelona's professional sports teams.


The renewal ceremony, held at CUPRA's headquarters in Martorell, was graced by FC Barcelona's president, Joan Laporta, and CUPRA's CEO, Wayne Griffiths. The event also saw the presence of notable athletes from the club's various teams, demonstrating the wide-ranging impact of this partnership.


This alliance is more than just a sponsorship; it's a fusion of shared values and visions for the future. FC Barcelona's dedication to nurturing young talent across its professional teams resonates with CUPRA's rebellious spirit and commitment to electric mobility. This shared ethos is poised to drive both entities towards a future marked by innovation, sustainability, and global influence.


Joan Laporta, FC Barcelona's president, expressed his enthusiasm for the extended partnership, highlighting the mutual benefits of this collaboration. "The world of sports and cars share the challenge of always chasing the horizon in search of success," Laporta remarked, underscoring the shared ambition and commitment to excellence that define both FC Barcelona and CUPRA.


Wayne Griffiths, CEO of CUPRA, echoed Laporta's sentiments, emphasizing the brands' common goals and values. "Our common commitment to the future and new generations has created a unique connection," Griffiths stated, pointing out the ambition to challenge the status quo both on the pitch and on the road.


The partnership's expansion means CUPRA will also become the official sponsor of FC Barcelona's basketball, futsal, handball, and roller hockey teams until 2029. Furthermore, the CUPRA logo will adorn the right sleeve of the men's and women's football shirts during the Summer Tour and international friendlies for the next three seasons, enhancing the brand's global visibility.


In addition to team sponsorships, CUPRA's commitment to global strategy and talent will be showcased through its main partnership with one of the international Barça Academies. This initiative will further strengthen CUPRA's global presence and underscore its commitment to nurturing future generations of sports enthusiasts and professionals.


The event attendees were introduced to CUPRA's electrified models, including the CUPRA DarkRebel, CUPRA Raval, and CUPRA Tavascan, showcasing the brand's innovative vision for the future. These models symbolize CUPRA's leadership in the shift towards electric mobility, aligning with FC Barcelona's forward-thinking ethos.
