For the first time in its history, Poland’s top-tier football league, Ekstraklasa, will be broadcast in the United States and Canada, following a newly signed agreement with beIN Media Group. The partnership covers the 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons, significantly expanding the league’s international footprint in the North American market.

Under the terms of the deal, selected PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa matches will air live on beIN Sports’ pay-TV channels in both countries, accompanied by English-language commentary. Matches will also be available through beIN Connect, the group’s digital streaming service, and its FAST channel. This marks a major milestone for the Polish league’s global media strategy.

Entering a Competitive but Valuable Market

Although football is still growing in popularity in North America, the U.S. and Canadian markets are regarded as highly lucrative, particularly due to their large broadcast budgets and increasing mainstream interest. Ekstraklasa President Marcin Animucki emphasized the importance of this step:

“We’re entering the American market at an ideal time,” said Animucki. “Our league starts around a month earlier than most major European leagues, meaning we’ll have a window of opportunity to attract attention without competition. With strong TV production, passionate fan culture, and modern stadiums, we believe we can engage American viewers effectively.”

Distribution Across Major Platforms

beIN Sports already broadcasts top-tier competitions such as Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Copa Libertadores, and Turkish Süper Lig. Its English-language channels reach approximately 9 million households in the U.S., with an additional 6 million reached via Spanish-language versions.

In the U.S., beIN is distributed via DISH, Verizon Fios, Optimum, and Mediacom, while in Canada it is available through Bell Fibe TV, Rogers Cable, and Shaw Cable. beIN Sports Connect, the group’s digital platform, boasts 120 million monthly users globally, and will offer Ekstraklasa matches online via browser and apps for iOS, Android, Roku, Android TV, and Fire TV.

Non-Exclusive Rights and Digital Options Ekstraklasa beIN Sports

The deal is non-exclusive, meaning Ekstraklasa matches will continue to be available on Ekstraklasa.TV, the league’s official international streaming platform, which provides global access (excluding Poland, Russia, and Belarus). Subscribers can watch all matches with Polish commentary via monthly or seasonal packages.

In parallel, the league maintains data and video rights partnerships with betting operators through IMG Arena, enabling global sportsbook streaming under controlled licensing conditions.
