Polestar, the Swedish performance electric car manufacturer, has delivered the first fleet of vehicles to Borussia Dortmund as part of its new role as the club’s Champion and Mobility Partner. The agreement, signed earlier this month, includes sleeve sponsorship in all competitions, stadium advertising, and the provision of 60 vehicles for club use.

First Vehicles Handed Over Borussia Dortmund Polestar

On 27 August, Polestar Deutschland representatives Jan Grindemann (Managing Director) and Frank Mäling (Head of Sales) officially presented the first 20 cars to Borussia Dortmund executives Carsten Cramer (Managing Director) and Benedikt Scholz (Director of Internationalization and Commercial Partnerships).

The vehicles will be integrated into daily club operations, marking a tangible step in the brand’s sponsorship activation. Polestar models had already been used during BVB’s training camp in Saalfelden earlier in the summer.

Strategic Partnership Context

The collaboration with Borussia Dortmund combines brand visibility with a mobility solution for the club. Beyond kit and stadium advertising, the vehicle fleet emphasizes Polestar’s positioning at the intersection of performance and sustainability in the automotive market.

Carsten Cramer highlighted the alignment between the two organizations:

“In Polestar we have a partner that fully shares our ambitions in terms of sustainability and performance. We are pleased to now have the first vehicles in place and to count on another strong partner beyond the pitch.”

Jan Grindemann underlined the brand’s objective of connecting sport and innovation:

“After our vehicles were used at BVB’s training camp in Saalfelden, they are now part of daily life in Dortmund. Our models deliver performance that can be experienced directly. We look forward to shaping sustainable mobility together with Borussia Dortmund.”
