MG Motor France and Olympique Lyonnais (OL) are set to continue their successful partnership for another three years, further strengthening ties that have seen both entities achieve significant milestones. The renewed agreement, which extends until 2027, reaffirms MG Motor's role as a key sponsor, underscoring a shared commitment to innovation, performance, and community engagement.

Strategic Renewal Amidst Growth

After a notable season marked by resilience and success, MG Motor and OL are uniting their strengths once more to push the boundaries of what's possible in both the automotive and sports industries. This partnership, facilitated by the sports marketing firm SPORTFIVE, aims to leverage the unique qualities of both brands to foster growth and enhance their presence on a global scale.

A Commitment to Shared Values and Community Impact

MG Motor, part of the SAIC Group, which sold over 840,000 vehicles globally last year, sees this partnership as an opportunity to deepen its market penetration in France and throughout Europe. The collaboration with OL—a club known for its dynamism and deep community roots—provides a powerful platform to showcase MG’s innovative electric and hybrid vehicles.

Empowering Performance with Innovative Mobility

The partnership will feature MG vehicles prominently, including at key events and matches, providing OL teams with access to MG's latest electric and hybrid technology. This aligns with both organizations' goals to promote sustainable mobility and supports OL's commitment to reducing its environmental impact.

Launch of Exciting New Models

During the partnership renewal ceremony, MG showcased several of its latest models, including the MG Cyberster—an elegantly designed roadster that combines classic style with modern technology—and the MG IM LS6, a high-end fully electric SUV equipped with the latest tech features. These vehicles symbolize MG’s commitment to leading-edge design and technology, aligning perfectly with OL's innovative spirit.

Expanding Presence and Building Trust

MG Motor plans to expand its distribution network across France, increasing from 80 dealerships in 2021 to 200 by the end of 2024. This expansion includes a new showroom in Vénissieux, enhancing local engagement and accessibility for fans and customers alike.

A Future Built on Perseverance and Innovation

Haojie GUO, President and CEO of MG Motor France, emphasized the partnership's role in celebrating perseverance and innovation. Laurent Prud’homme, General Director of Olympique Lyonnais, also highlighted the importance of continued collaboration to foster trust and support mutual growth, illustrating the commitment to a long-term partnership that benefits both brands and their stakeholders.
