Juventus has announced the launch of "Becoming Her: Before We Grow Up", a new original documentary produced by Juventus Creator Lab, which will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in September as part of ESPN's content offering.
The documentary follows three young female footballers from Juventus' global academy network, offering behind-the-scenes access to their development on and off the pitch while highlighting the club's international player pathway.
Before its streaming release, the production will receive its world premiere at the Giffoni Film Festival on 20 July.
Juventus Continues to Expand Its Original Content Portfolio Juventus
The documentary represents another step in Juventus' investment in long-form original content.
Instead of focusing on first-team players, the production follows three academy footballers from different parts of the world, documenting their training, daily routines and ambitions as they progress through the club's development system.
The three featured players are:
Anna Copelli, from Juventus' youth academy in Italy.
Sofia Cholovskaya, from the Juventus Academy in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
Samantha Lin, from the Juventus Academy in Los Angeles, United States.
Together, the three stories illustrate how Juventus' academy model now extends across multiple continents.
Global Academy Network Takes Centre Stage
While the documentary follows individual journeys, it also showcases one of Juventus' most important long-term assets: its international academy network.
The documentary positions it as a global football ecosystem connecting young players across Europe, the Middle East and North America. For clubs with international academy operations, original content has become an increasingly effective way of demonstrating both sporting philosophy and global reach.
The decision to premiere the documentary on Disney+ significantly expands its potential audience.
As part of ESPN's content offering, the documentary gives Juventus access to viewers well beyond its existing supporter base, reflecting the growing role streaming platforms play in football storytelling.
Juventus said the documentary explores the defining moments experienced by three young female footballers as they pursue their ambitions within the club's academy system.
Produced by Juventus Creator Lab, the film combines exclusive behind-the-scenes footage with personal interviews, illustrating how football becomes part of each player's development both on and off the pitch.
The documentary will make its public debut at the Giffoni Film Festival before becoming available globally on Disney+ in September.
