Hertha BSC has entered a new technical partnership with Castore, the British premium sportswear brand, which will become the club’s official kit supplier starting from the 2025/26 season. The multi-year agreement marks the end of a 26-year relationship with Nike and ushers in a new phase for the Berlin-based club.
Under the deal, Castore will supply match kits, training wear, and pre-match apparel across all levels of Hertha BSC—from the men’s first team and academy to the women’s and eSports teams.
Strategy Behind the Transition Hertha BSC Castore
The partnership has been positioned as a strategic step by Hertha BSC to align its identity with a brand focused on performance, innovation, and growth. According to the club, the agreement aims to connect Hertha's tradition and local roots with Castore’s performance-driven, modern sportswear philosophy.
Ralf Huschen, Managing Director of Hertha BSC, emphasized the brand and performance alignment:
“With Castore, we gain a forward-looking partner who shares our ambitions and focuses both on performance and our identity. Together, we’re writing a new chapter without forgetting our roots.”
Castore’s Expansion in European Football
For Castore, the Hertha BSC deal is another step in the company’s growing footprint across European football. Founded in 2015 by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, Castore has built its portfolio through partnerships with clubs across the Premier League, Bundesliga, LaLiga, and Serie A.
The agreement with Hertha highlights Castore’s intent to expand in the German market by partnering with clubs that have strong local heritage and growth potential.
Pim Fennema, Sports Marketing Director at Castore Europe, noted:
“This partnership is about more than just supplying kits. It’s about connecting high-performance sportswear with the timeless spirit of a historic club.”
Brand Continuity and Innovation
While Castore will introduce a new design identity for Hertha BSC apparel, the club confirmed that its iconic blue-and-white stripes will remain a prominent feature—blending modern performance wear with the club’s traditional look.
This design balance reflects the growing trend in football merchandising, where clubs aim to preserve visual identity while delivering technical innovation and fresh retail appeal for domestic and global fans.
Broader Commercial Context
The move comes at a time when many European clubs are reevaluating long-standing supplier contracts in favor of more agile, partner-led models. Castore’s growth has been driven by its willingness to offer bespoke solutions, including greater revenue share on merchandise and collaborative design processes.
For Hertha BSC, the switch is also an opportunity to refresh its brand positioning following recent seasons of fluctuation in sporting performance and to engage fans with a new product ecosystem built on both tradition and innovation.
