Fortuna Düsseldorf has unveiled a bold and innovative project titled “Fortuna für alle” (Fortuna for Everyone) aimed at transforming the traditional football experience. The initiative introduces free stadium entry for fans and a transparent new funding model that redistributes sponsorship income into youth development, women’s football, infrastructure, and community-based projects.

With this move, the club positions itself as a pioneer in democratizing access to football while redefining its social and commercial model in collaboration with key partners: Hewlett Packard Enterprise, TARGOBANK, and Common Goal.

Free Entry to Home Games – A Pilot for the Future

Starting with selected matches in the 2023/24 season and aiming to expand to all league home games, Fortuna Düsseldorf has committed to eliminating ticket costs for fans. The club’s ambition is to make football more inclusive and reconnect with its broader community, whether longtime season ticket holders or newcomers.

Fans will still need to register in advance for free tickets, and if demand exceeds stadium capacity, access will be allocated via lottery. Both home and away supporters will be eligible under this new model.

“Football fans give a lot to their clubs—time, passion, money,” said club legend Oliver Fink. “Giving something back, while also investing in youth, women’s football and social initiatives, is the right step forward.”

Redefining Commercial Strategy with Purpose

Backed by strategic partners who support the mission philosophically and financially, Fortuna Düsseldorf has outlined a clear reinvestment model for newly generated sponsorship revenues:

  • 20% to youth and women’s football

  • 20% to digital infrastructure and stadium development

  • 10% to grassroots sport and sustainability efforts

  • The remainder allocated to competitive team development and club operations

This transparency aims to build greater trust and engagement among fans and partners alike.

Fan Ownership and Participation Fortuna für alle Fortuna Düsseldorf

“Fortuna für alle” also reinforces Fortuna’s position as a fan-centered club, explicitly rejecting commercial ownership models and advocating for greater participation. Fans will be encouraged to co-shape the club’s future through digital tools, feedback platforms, and open communication channels.

“The club belongs to everyone who gets involved,” the announcement stated.

A Joint Effort with the City and Region

The initiative is the result of collaboration between the club, the city of Düsseldorf, and regional businesses. The collective goal is to create a sustainable, inclusive, and community-driven model for professional football—one that balances sporting ambition with social responsibility.
