FC Porto will resume renovation works at the Estádio do Dragão at the end of the 2025/26 season, advancing the second phase of a multi-year modernization project launched during the previous pre-season.
The redevelopment programme is structured around three pillars: infrastructure, services and technology, with the stated objective of enhancing fan experience and preparing the stadium for potential involvement in the 2030 FIFA World Cup cycle.
Phase Two: Hospitality Expansion and Space Optimization
The upcoming phase will focus heavily on expanding premium hospitality capacity and optimizing underutilized areas within the stadium.
FC Porto plans to increase the number of hospitality seats and transition from four existing hospitality tiers to nine integrated concepts under a unified “FC Porto Premium Experiences” framework.
According to the club, hospitality demand frequently sells out before the start of competitions. In response, previously underused spaces will be reconfigured into new hospitality zones capable of operating year-round, including for external partner events.
The development of the Central East Stand Premium area will continue, aimed at enhancing attractiveness for members and premium ticket holders.
Technology Integration: AiFi and Digital Platforms FC Porto
Technology remains central to the modernization strategy. FC Porto will expand the deployment of AiFi-enabled autonomous bars within the stadium’s common areas. The system enables frictionless purchases without traditional ordering queues or payment checkpoints, targeting improved matchday efficiency and throughput.
On the digital front, the club continues to integrate its ecosystem following the launch of the Member Portal and the bilhetes.fcporto.pt ticketing platform. A dedicated Hospitality App is scheduled for release, designed to centralize interactions between the club, corporate partners and guests.
Longer term, FC Porto has announced plans for a “Super App” intended to unify ticketing, membership, hospitality and digital services within a single interface.
F&B and Operational Upgrades
Earlier modernization measures included the installation of a central kitchen and satellite kitchens to upgrade the food and beverage offering, as well as refurbishment of corporate boxes and hospitality areas. The club has also introduced a new ticketing solution and implemented a modern lighting system as part of the initial phase of works.
