Borussia Dortmund will wear a special neon jersey for their home match against FC Augsburg on Saturday, paying tribute to the iconic 1994/95 Bundesliga-winning kit. The design celebrates the 30th anniversary of the club’s first league title in 32 years and aims to revive the bold and energetic spirit of the 90s-era BVB team.

Borussia Dortmund describes the design as a symbol of confidence, ambition, and individuality, embracing the club’s fearless attitude of the 90s. Under the campaign slogan "Dare to Stand Out", the kit reflects the team’s historic playing style—bold, attacking, and full of belief.

BVB’s Commercial and Sponsorship Support


The special edition kit is be available for purchase from Friday, March 7, at 10:00 AM (CET) in Borussia Dortmund’s online store and official BVB fan shops. The price is set at €95, and the jersey will be packaged in a special collector’s box. For the first time, Borussia Dortmund will release a long-sleeve version of a special edition kit. Fans will also have the option to customize their jerseys with the names of legendary players from the 1994/95 squad. The kit is a limited edition and will be available only while supplies last.


The special edition jersey is produced in collaboration with PUMA, Borussia Dortmund’s long-term kit supplier. The initiative is also supported by main sponsor 1&1, sleeve sponsor GLS, and Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL), all of whom played a key role in approving and designing the tribute kit.


Limited-edition jerseys have become a major revenue driver for football clubs, blending heritage, fashion, and fan engagement. Borussia Dortmund’s neon tribute kit follows a trend of clubs leveraging nostalgia-driven designs, appealing to both long-time supporters and younger fans drawn to bold retro aesthetics.
