Athens Kallithea FC Announces Alex Dunev as Incoming Majority Owner.

Greek second-tier club Athens Kallithea FC has confirmed that Alex Dunev has reached an agreement to acquire the majority stake previously held by Andrew Barroway. The transaction remains subject to approval from Greece’s Professional Sports Committee.

Alex Dunev, 47, is a fintech entrepreneur and investor based in New York. He currently heads the Asset-Based Finance team at Bow River Capital, a $5 billion asset management firm.

His career includes co-founding and serving as CIO of Park Cities Asset Management, an investment company focused on fintech platforms in North America. He also founded SixPoint Capital and Akses Technologies. Before his ventures in fintech, Dunev spent 15 years as an investment banker with Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, and UBS in New York and Los Angeles.

Dunev has been involved with Athens Kallithea since December 2022, when he first became a minority investor in the club.

Ownership Structure

Following the agreement, Dunev will become the majority shareholder, pending regulatory approval. Ted Philipakos and Peter Philipakos remain the club’s second-largest and third-largest investors, ensuring continuity in the club’s existing leadership and strategy.
