RCD Espanyol has announced a new phase in its digital transformation strategy, introducing a series of technological upgrades designed to modernize operations, enhance the matchday experience, and strengthen long-term engagement with supporters. The initiatives, rolled out during the opening months of the 2025–26 season, position the club for upcoming strategic milestones, including its 125th anniversary, preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, and the expansion of its digital business model.
Perico ID Becomes the Foundation of a Unified Digital Ecosystem
At the center of Espanyol’s digital strategy is Perico ID, a new Single Sign-On (SSO) solution that consolidates fan access across all of the club’s digital services.
Perico ID integrates:
• Official app
• Website
• EspanyolMEDIA
• Ticketing
• Online store
• Stadium tour bookings
• Experiences and hospitality
The model creates a fully omnichannel environment, simplifying user journeys while enabling the club to personalize communication, improve data management, and streamline commercial operations.
New Ticketing and Stadium Access Features RCD Espanyol
Espanyol has introduced several upgrades in collaboration with its Marketing, Membership Services, and Ticketing departments:
Seat Release for Season Ticket Holders
A new seat-liberation mechanism allows season ticket holders to release their seats, increasing stadium availability and improving attendance optimization at the RCDE Stadium.
NFC-Based Tickets and Passes
The club has deployed NFC technology for tickets and season passes, enabling fans to enter the stadium directly via their smartphone’s mobile wallet.
• Over 6,200 digital entries were recorded at recent home matches
• Parking access has also been fully digitized
The transition supports sustainability goals while offering a faster and more secure entry process.
Enhanced Stadium Tour Experience
Working with the RCDE Foundation, Espanyol has restructured the booking process for the RCDE Stadium Tour, making it more intuitive and increasing the range of available visitor experiences. The improvements aim to reinforce Espanyol’s cultural identity and introduce new audiences to the club’s history and facilities.
