As part of its 2025 pre-season tour in the United States, Manchester United will stage a high-visibility fan activation event at Niagara Falls, where the world-famous natural landmark will be lit in red to reflect the club’s colours. The initiative is being delivered in collaboration with the Niagara Parks Commission and the Manchester United Niagara Supporters’ Club.
Scheduled for Wednesday, 23 July at 22:00 CET, the illumination will include all three waterfalls spanning the U.S.-Canada border, along with a coordinated fireworks display, and will serve as the symbolic kickoff to the club’s involvement in the Premier League Summer Series.
Strategic International Fan Activation Manchester United Niagara Falls
This is the first of several scheduled supporter-focused events during Manchester United’s summer tour across North America, with additional stops in New Jersey, Chicago, and Atlanta. The initiative highlights United’s strategy to strengthen global fan engagement through large-scale, culturally relevant experiences.
“It will be a unique occasion where two forces of nature combine,” said Rick McGagh, Director of Fan Engagement at Manchester United. “Engaging fans in authentic ways that connect to their local communities is central to our approach.”
The club is leveraging its international supporter base to host experiential activations in key North American cities, connecting the Manchester United brand to local audiences through spectacle, symbolism, and regional collaboration.
Collaboration Across Borders and Institutions
The Niagara Falls event includes cooperation from both Canadian and U.S. stakeholders, reflecting the binational significance of the location. Local political figures—including Tony Baldinelli, Member of Parliament for Niagara Falls, and Jim Diodati, Mayor of Niagara Falls—have publicly supported the activation, citing its contribution to regional visibility and pre-World Cup enthusiasm ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
United fans from surrounding regions, including Toronto, Buffalo, and Rochester, are expected to attend, with former player Wes Brown scheduled to appear at the event.
