Manchester City has officially unveiled The Medlock, a 401-room, four-star hotel set to open in late 2026, in collaboration with Radisson Hotel Group. The hotel, which will be connected to the Etihad Stadium, is part of the club’s broader development of the Etihad Campus, further positioning it as a year-round sports and entertainment destination.

A New Addition to Manchester’s Hospitality and Event Scene Manchester City Hotel

The Medlock is designed to enhance the matchday and event experience for both Manchester City fans and visitors attending events at the Etihad Stadium and the nearby Co-op Live arena. The hotel will feature a variety of accommodation options, including suites, deluxe rooms, standard rooms, and a luxury penthouse suite.

Beyond accommodation, guests will have access to a wide range of amenities, including food and drink outlets, a roof walk, a museum experience, and commercial office space integrated into the stadium expansion. Additionally, the hotel will provide conference and event facilities, benefiting from easy access to Manchester city center.

Radisson Hotel Group Expands Its Presence in Stadium Hospitality

With this partnership, The Medlock will join Radisson Blu and Radisson Hotel Group’s portfolio of over 1,500 hotels worldwide. The hotel will be operated by Valor Hospitality, an industry-leading hotel management company.

Roel de Vries, Chief Operating Officer at City Football Group, emphasized the significance of the project, stating:

"Today’s announcement is an exciting moment as we reveal the name of our hotel as ‘The Medlock’ and welcome globally renowned hotelier, Radisson Hotel Group to the Etihad Campus. Radisson’s enthusiasm and passion for the Club’s hotel project is clear, and we firmly believe that Radisson’s industry experience together with the Club’s ambition and vision for the hotel is the perfect combination. We look forward to working with Radisson as we move towards the opening of the hotel and a year-round sports and entertainment destination that our fans and visitors from both the UK and around the world can enjoy."

Elie Younes, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, highlighted the strategic value of the partnership, stating:

"Our brands are always relevant to both our owners and our guests. We are thrilled to collaborate with Manchester City Football Club and create a global flagship hotel within the world-class Etihad Campus in Manchester. This hotel is a fantastic addition to a growing portfolio of several stadium-based properties in the UK, like the renowned cricket ground, Edgbaston Stadium, the Allianz Stadium Twickenham, Home of England rugby, and worldwide in India and China. We are grateful for Manchester City’s trust in our brands, and confident that our long-standing cooperation will unlock further opportunities to all stakeholders."

What This Means for Manchester City’s Commercial Expansion

The Etihad Campus project is a key part of Manchester City’s long-term commercial growth strategy, aligning with the trend of football clubs investing in hospitality and multi-purpose venues. The addition of The Medlock strengthens the club’s ability to generate non-matchday revenue while enhancing its status as a global sports and entertainment hub.

This partnership also reflects the growing integration between football clubs and global hospitality brands, as seen with other stadium-based hotels in London, Birmingham, India, and China. With the hospitality sector playing an increasingly important role in modern football economics, the collaboration between Manchester City and Radisson is another step toward making football venues more than just matchday destinations.
