Sporting Samsung Wallet

Sporting Clube de Portugal has been selected by Samsung as the first football club in the world to integrate Samsung Wallet into its operations. The launch positions Sporting CP at the centre of Samsung’s global rollout strategy for the digital wallet solution.

From Gamebox e-Card to Samsung Wallet Integration

The partnership builds on Sporting CP’s 2024 launch of the Membership/Gamebox e-Card, which allowed supporters to store membership credentials in mobile wallets and use NFC technology for faster entry into Estádio José Alvalade.

By integrating Samsung Wallet, Sporting CP members will now have access to an expanded set of features, including:

  • Event ticket storage for seamless stadium entry

  • Integration of loyalty cards, coupons, and travel boarding passes

  • Samsung Pay for in-app and contactless payments

  • Secure password management through Samsung Pass

  • NFC-enabled vehicle access

The platform is protected by Samsung’s KNOX security technology and will be available via a simple swipe-up gesture on Galaxy smartphones.

Executive Insights Sporting Samsung Wallet

Nuno Parreira, Country Manager of Samsung Portugal, described the integration as a significant milestone:

“Being the first country to have a club like Sporting CP adopt Samsung Wallet demonstrates the potential we see in the Portuguese market. We are providing value by replacing the physical wallet with a secure, integrated digital solution.”

André Bernardo, Chief Strategy and Operations Officer at Sporting CP, added:

“This invitation from Samsung is a compliment to the work we have been doing in technology and innovation. It is an honour to be the first club in the world to integrate Samsung Wallet.”

Samsung confirmed that by the end of 2025, Samsung Wallet functionality will also be extended to Galaxy Watch devices, expanding accessibility through wearables.
