Suzuki Deutschland GmbH has extended its long-term partnership with SV Darmstadt 98, adding a new dimension to the relationship by becoming the official sleeve sponsor from the start of the 2025/26 season. The agreement reinforces Suzuki’s role as both Premium Partner and Mobility Partner of the 2. Bundesliga club, and highlights the brand’s regional and national marketing ambitions.
This extension marks the first time the Suzuki logo will appear on matchday kits, specifically on the left sleeve of Darmstadt’s first team jerseys.
Expanded Rights and Brand Visibility Suzuki SV Darmstadt 98
In addition to the new sleeve branding, Suzuki will retain a broad portfolio of sponsorship assets, including:
Cam carpets behind the goals
Branding on the team bus, match tickets, and press/media backdrops
Presence in club publications like Lilienkurier and der 98er
Hospitality packages and VIP lounge activations
A vehicle display zone at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor
Suzuki will also continue to provide official vehicles for the club, reinforcing its position as SV Darmstadt 98’s Mobility Partner.
Regional Roots, National Reach
The deal reflects a longstanding regional connection between the two organizations. Suzuki’s German headquarters is located in Bensheim, less than 30 kilometers from Darmstadt, and the collaboration has been a core part of the brand’s sports sponsorship strategy.
Daniel Schnell, Deputy Managing Director at Suzuki Deutschland GmbH, emphasized the alignment of values:
“With SV Darmstadt 1898 e.V., we have the ideal partner. Team spirit, athleticism, groundedness, and local identity — the Lilien’s values and club culture align perfectly with Suzuki. We're proud to continue as Premium and Mobility Partner.”
He added that the inclusion of sleeve branding would help showcase Suzuki’s three key product areas — automotive, motorcycle, and marine — to a broader national audience.
Community-Driven Content Strategy
Beyond stadium visibility, both parties will continue to co-produce digital content and launch new formats designed to offer fans behind-the-scenes access and brand engagement. The approach is aligned with a wider industry shift toward fan-centric sponsorship models that prioritize storytelling and interactivity over static visibility.
Kazuyuki Yamashita, Managing Director of Suzuki Deutschland GmbH, added:
“Our headquarters have been in Bensheim for over 20 years, and this regional engagement is deeply important to us. With sleeve visibility, we’re expanding our reach nationally while staying true to our local identity.”
Club Perspective
SV Darmstadt 98 sees the expanded partnership as a signal of long-term trust and brand alignment. The move comes ahead of a season in which the club celebrates 127 years of history and seeks to deepen commercial partnerships despite challenging financial conditions across the 2. Bundesliga.
Martin Kowalewski, Managing Director of Marketing and Sales at SV 98, noted:
“We are proud to have Suzuki at our side — literally. This extension demonstrates the mutual trust between both parties and reflects a strong example of how regional loyalty can translate into national visibility.”
