Górnik Zabrze, one of Poland’s most historic football clubs and the current club of Lukas Podolski, has announced a new sponsorship agreement with Corendon Airlines, a European leisure airline headquartered in the Netherlands. The partnership, signed for a two-season term through June 30, 2027, introduces Corendon Airlines as an official sponsor of the club, with visibility across multiple marketing channels.

The deal includes branding on matchday shorts, as well as stadium signage and club-owned digital media, strengthening the airline’s position in the Polish market and aligning its name with a high-profile Ekstraklasa club.

International Brand, Local Impact Corendon Airlines Górnik Zabrze

Founded in 2000, Corendon Airlines operates a fleet of Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, serving over 165 airports across 65 countries. With an annual passenger volume exceeding 6 million, the airline is known for its direct holiday routes and growing involvement in European sports partnerships.

The collaboration with Górnik Zabrze reflects the airline’s strategic ambition to expand visibility in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly in regions with a strong football culture and community-based loyalty.

Halina Strzyżewska, Country Sales Manager for Corendon Airlines in Poland, commented on the alignment:

“This is a very important decision for us. Corendon Airlines is a carrier that supports sports at many levels. We are pleased to have finalized this agreement and to join the Górnik Zabrze family.”

Strategic Expansion for Górnik Zabrze

For Górnik, the partnership adds another prominent brand to its sponsorship portfolio and reinforces the club’s positioning beyond the Silesian region. The agreement marks a continued effort to diversify commercial partners while building long-term financial stability.

Michał Siara, Member of the Board at Górnik Zabrze, stated:

“We are working not only to develop in Zabrze and Silesia, but also to build our brand more broadly. This agreement reflects the collective efforts of our team and gives us a chance to take the next step forward.”

Dr. Bartłomiej Gabryś, also a Member of the Board, emphasized the practical reach of the partnership:

“The Corendon Airlines logo will appear on the matchday shorts and across various marketing platforms familiar to our fans. This deal represents consistent, reliable support over the next two seasons.”

Marketing Integration

In addition to apparel branding, the sponsorship includes:

  • Stadium visibility during home matches

  • Presence across social media channels and digital activations

  • Opportunities for promotional tie-ins and fan-facing campaigns during the club’s 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons

This kind of integration positions Corendon Airlines for direct connection with the club’s dedicated fan base, particularly as Górnik continues its ambition to grow commercially and expand brand engagement beyond its core region.
